Windows firewalls

If you have a network edition of TASBooks, you need to install a network database engine on the server. The network database engine used by TASBooks is the Pervasive Database Engine. You need to make sure that your firewall doesn't’t prevent you from accessing this from the client computers.

Most firewalls either allow access automatically, or prompt you to give access when you open your TASBooks company. You simply need to confirm you want to give access when prompted to do so.

If your firewall doesn't’t allow access to the Pervasive Database Engine, you may need to manually allocate port 1583 for its use. For further information, please refer to your network administrator or firewall documentation.
