Installing Sage Quickpay

Sage Quickpay software is great for small and medium-sized businesses that need to run an accurate payroll quickly and efficiently.

Straightforward and simple to use, with Sage Quickpay you can manage your employees' payments, generate your online submissions for upload to Revenue, and more at the touch of a button.

If you're new to Sage Quickpay and ready to install your software for the first time, you can find everything you need right here. We take you step-by-step through the installation, starting with preparing to install.

Ensure you have your account number and Quickpay serial number to hand

You can find your account and serial number in the email, or on the invoice you received from us with your software.

Create a Sage website login and link to your account

You can view your account information, access support and downloads, and manage access to your account details online by visiting the Sage website. If you don't already have one, we recommend you create a Sage website login now.

  1. Visit www.mysage.ie and click Create a Sage login.
  2. Enter your details, then click Register.
  3. An email is sent to the email address you registered with. If you don't see this email in your inbox, it may be in your spam or junk mail folder.

  4. Open the activation email and click the link provided.
  5. Once you're redirected to the homepage, enter your email address and password, then click Sign In.
  6. Select I am an existing Customer, Business Partner, Accountant or Developer with an Account Number and click Next.
  7. Enter your contact details, then click Next.
  8. Enter your Sage account number and Quickpay serial number, then click Next.

You've now created and activated your login and linked it to your Sage account.

Check your system requirements and access rights

Before you install Sage Quickpay, you should check that your computer meets the recommended system requirements and that you're logged on to your computer as an administrator. If you don't have administrator access, your software may not install correctly.

If you want to use Sage Quickpay in a network environment and store your data on a server, you also need to have the relevant permissions to your data folder. You many need to contact your IT support for help with this.

Download Sage Quickpay

You can download Sage Quickpay from the downloads area of our Sage website.

  1. Click the relevant download link below:
  2. Download Download Sage Quickpay 2017 (v16.2/17.0) >>
  3. When prompted, enter your Sage website login details and click Sign In.
  4. If prompted, select your account.
  5. Click Download.
  6. Depending on your Internet browser, the file automatically download to your Downloads folder or you're prompted to save the file.

  7. If prompted, browse to where you want to save the file then click Save.

If you're installing Sage Quickpay on a number of computers, you should copy the downloaded file to a shared folder on your network.

What to do next

To get started, choose the type of installation you want to do.


Once you've followed the steps in the Preparation tab, you're ready to install your Sage Quickpay.

You're now ready to start using Sage Quickpay. For help with setting things up, visit the Set up Sage Quickpay area.

To install Sage Quickpay and store your data on one computer

  1. Log on to your computer as an administrator and close all Sage software.

  2. Locate and double-click the downloaded Quickpay installation file. Click Run if prompted.

  3. If additional security prompts relating to your User Access Control account appear, you must accept these before you can continue with the installation.

  4. Click Next.

  5. To accept the terms of the licence agreement, select I agree then click Next.

  6. Select Full Installation, then click Next when prompted.

  7. When prompted to add Quickpay shortcut icons to your desktop, click Yes then click Finish.

License your software

When you open Sage Quickpay for the first time, you're prompted to enter your licence details. To license your software now:

  1. Click License Now.
  2. Under Account Details, click Edit.
  3. Enter your Sage account number and Quickpay serial number.
  4. You can find this information in the email, or on the invoice you received from us with your software.

  5. Click OK.

Install any available updates

We release regular updates containing software improvements and new features, so it's important to ensure you're always using the latest version.

To make sure that you receive a notification when an update is available to download and install, you can check your automatic updates settings within Sage Quickpay.

Once you've followed the steps in the Preparation tab, you're ready to install Sage Quickpay.

You're now ready to start using Sage Quickpay. For help with setting things up, visit the Set up Sage Quickpay area.

Install Sage Quickpay and store your data on the server

  1. Log on to a computer that you want to use Sage Quickpay on.

  2. Browse to the network location you want to install Sage Quickpay to, then create a folder and call it Quickpay.

  3. Locate and double-click the downloaded Quickpay installation file, then click Run.

  4. If additional security prompts relating to your User Access Control account appear, you must accept these before you can continue with the installation.

  5. Click Next.

  6. To accept the terms of the licence agreement, select I agree and click Next.

  7. Select Full Installation then click Next.

  8. Click Browse, browse to and select the Quickpay folder you created in step 2, then click OK.

  9. Check the Destination Folder location is correct. If it's not, repeat the previous step.

  10. Click Next then Yes.

  11. Click Next when prompted.

  12. When prompted to add Quickpay shortcut icons to your desktop, click Yes then Finish.

  13. Locate and double-click the downloaded Quickpay installation file again, then click Run.

  14. Click Next.

  15. To accept the terms of the licence agreement, select I agree and click Next.

  16. Select Client Installation then click Next.

  17. Click Browse, browse to and select the Quickpay folder you created in step 2, then click OK.

  18. Check the Destination Folder location is correct. If it's not, repeat the previous step.

  19. Click Next when prompted.

  20. When you're prompted to add Quickpay shortcut icons to your desktop, click Yes then Finish.

  21. Repeat steps 12 to 19 on each computer you want to use Sage Quickpay on.

License your software

When you open Sage Quickpay for the first time, you're prompted to enter your licence details. To license your software now:

  1. Click License Now.
  2. Under Account Details, click Edit.
  3. Enter your Sage account number and Quickpay serial number.
  4. Tip: You can find this information in the email, or on the invoice you received from us with your software.

  5. Click OK.
